Tobacconists' Choice Cigars

Joshua is our Lake Forest manager

Joshua has been smoking cigars for years before rising to the challenge of managing our Lake Forest CigarSpot location. He is also known as the "Hand of the King(s)" as he truly the power behind the throne(s).

This week, he has selected the Oliva Serie V - 135th Anniversary Edición Limitada as his cigar of choice.

"The first thing you'll notice about this cigar is the beautiful presentation. A gorgeous lacquered box opens to the cigars layed out into the shape of a fan. Why they did this is due to the unique contours of the cigar itself. the 135th is like a reverse torpedo with a round triple cap but as you go towards the foot of the cigar it tapers to a smaller ring gauge. While the 135th isn't a different blend of tobacco than the classic Oliva V, the tapered foot surprisingly gives this cigar a different taste character. It starts out more bold and concentrated and as it goes towards the thicker part of the cigar it softens while simultaneously adding depth. It was great to revisit a new size of the cigar that truly put Oliva on the map and has become a steady in my weekly rotation."
Budz is our Lake Forest manager

Budz, and his family, have been in the cigar business for decades. He was a cigar rep before he bought the Orange store and is now a partner in CigarSpots.

This week, he has selected the Illusione Epernay Serie 2009 - Le Taureau Prensado as his cigar of choice.

"The Corojo Cafe Rosado wrapper on this cigar will draw you. At first light the smoothness of the Nicaraguan tobaccos show how well this cigar was blended. As this cigar burns, it maintains its elegante balance with a mild body while delivering a full flavor to the palate. The complexity of the cigar will satisfy the connoisseur and the novice cigar smoker. This cigar has been a staple for me since its release and I always look forward to enjoying it !"
Steven is our main man in Laguna Niguel

Steven is our right hand man in Laguna Niguel. He might be young but he certainly knows his stuff when it comes to cigars. Hit him up for a suggestion next time you're in the Shop!

This week, he has selected the Aladino Connecticut in the toro size as his cigar of choice.

"Lately I’ve been smoking a lot of the Aladino Connecticut toro, an Ecuadorian wrapper with Honduran binder and filler. It’s an incredibly light cigar with a very comfortable draw, that makes for a very mellow experience. There’s hints of sourdough bread, cedar, and butter. This is something I like to take golfing or have early in the day."
